Fancy Pants Simplicity...

It is very nearly torture to buy fabulous products, sort them into kits.... and then rarely get to use them. There just aren't enough hours in the day to use all of the beautiful stuff we get in.

But the floral paper from the "Simplicity" line by Fancy Pants was relentless!

I also used Basic Grey Solids from the kit that we sell... pretty sure I could scrap with just those fro the rest of my life... okay, not really... but almost. The colors are divine!

I had all the scraps on my table as I was cleaning up and they were so pretty together I just couldn't help but make another...

I could live at the Farmer's Market...

This is Corbin Baldwin...

He rides his piano to the farmer's market on his bicycle every Saturday. Actually he and Eric Rich do. They ride together then take turns playing there. My sister and I happened upon the "Pianobike" when Corbin was playing.

Not only is a "Pianobike" a spectacle in and of itself, and not only is Corbin is a fun guy to watch... but this guy can play a piano! Corbin is 20, classically trained and playing since he was 5 YEARS OLD!

I found this article in a local paper when I was searching for their blog...

Here are a couple more shots from the Farmers Market... I love the Farmer's Market, I love the people that are there, I love the colors and sounds... I love, love, love that people are buying fresh food, crafts and goods from other people. It feels like community, love and peace on earth... 

Seriously, the peach I ate and the Mint Lime-ade I shared with my sister were pure summer perfection!

Halloween is right around the corner!

Seriously... has this year gone fast or what!! So long summer, ready or not, here come all the fall holidays!

Halloween is of course the most notable fall holiday around here, the kids just don't get all that into Thanksgiving. Candy, costumes and late nights are where it's at!

And just in time for Halloween 2010... I finally scrapped Halloween 2007...sigh... it's not about staying caught up, it's about enjoying the process... right? If it were essential to stay "caught up" to be a good scrapper, I'd be a miserable failure... so I'm going with enjoying the process:)

 

And in perfect sync with my behind-ness...I think this is the first time I've done pennants on a layout. They've been hot for a year or two now and I am just getting around to it:)

Oh well... long live behind-ness...If I'm gonna do it I might as well go at it with pizazz, conviction and peace of mind!

Old habits die hard...

I am a messy scrapper... I drive myself crazy.

I pulled out the leaf on my table so that I could have multiple projects out on it at the same time... and what do I do? I take up the whole table with the mess of one layout.

Figures.

I thought getting a Clip It Up meant that I would have everything close by and I wouldn't have to have it all over the table. But, no. I just un-clip everything and spread it all over the table anyway. At least I don't have to go far to put it away when I finally finish:) I actually really do like it... it packs a lot of product into a small space and it isn't a hassle to have right on the table. In fact, I like it so much I got an upper tier for it today.

I am also a huge fan of my IKEA Lazy Susan... if for no other reason than I got to buy cute containers to store things in.

It is a lovely mess though. I'm working with the Fancy Pants "Simplicity" line.

I'll share the finished layout soon!

My next obsession...

I have always LOVED old globes and maps... but i don'y really have any. They tend to be a little pricey. But I think I'm gonna start a collection... little by little, of course that's the fun of collecting!

And Oh my goodness could I get myself in trouble in this Etsy shop...

Do you recognize that stripe...

Seriously old, and I still LOVE it. It's Christina Cole, I think she did it for Provo Craft. I even have the matching album. (I'd post a picture but I can't even find an image on the internet anymore)

Anywho, the flowers are from the "Handmade" collection by K&Company

A seriously gorgeous line... 

Pretty simple page, and kind of a standard layout. I didn't take a lot of pictures at the party, this page was more about the flowers and the "branch" idea floating in my head:)

When it comes to scrapbook shopping...

 
I am more of a browser... I wander around finding things that catch my eye. I've learned to ask myself questions like-

"Will I use this?"

"Is this really my style? Cause just cause I like it doesn't mean I know how to scrap with it."

"Do I already have this?" I know that seems silly but I picked up a Cosmo Cricket stripe today that I have goodness knows how many sheets of... but I love it... and it was 60% off. I was awfully to proud to put it back and leave the store empty handed.

That's right, empty handed. I almost feel mean for admitting it... Maybe I should of bought SOMETHING just cause?

It was, I'm sure, a little easier because I... for the first time in a long time was looking for something specific....

Do you remember the days of scrapbooking when there was serious buzz around the big trade shows?I feel like that excitement has been dwindling over the last few years, do ya know what I mean?

Now, this is going to sound really lame... like seriously, really lame...

But I haven't felt this way in a long time... I love those lines and I could not wait to get my hands on them.

I did finally find PIECES of these lines... but I'm going to have to wait for the drool to dry before I can use them:)
